Newsletter | In the KliK Journal 2025, we are focusing on Switzerland's cooperation with three South American countries under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. This year's national focus is on climate-friendly cooling. The supported programme has been a remarkable success story since its launch.

Newsletter | We have not yet achieved our goal of anchoring the carbon offset mechanism in the Swiss CO₂ Ordinance beyond 2030, thereby maintaining planning and investment security for climate protection projects in Switzerland and abroad. The KliK Foundation is continuing to work on fulfilling the legal mandate to offset greenhouse gas emissions from transport. However, the tight time frame means that potential remains untapped and promising projects cannot be implemented.

Newsletter | In many respects, 2025 will be a landmark year for existing and future national and international climate protection projects. The KliK Foundation is committed to a long-term framework in Swiss legislation. At the same time, it must introduce changes to various supported programmes due to their expiry in 2030.

Newsletter | As the year draws to a close, we would like to look back on a successful 2024. Together with you, we have made important progress in climate action – nationally and internationally.

Newsletter | The KliK Foundation supports activities that demonstrably reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In order for funding programmes to come about, intensive clarification is required in advance. This ensures that the planned activities actually reduce emissions. Project owners sometimes invest a lot in future measures even before funding is received. These mechanisms make it possible to develop successful projects. However, they require a long-term planning horizon for those involved at home and abroad.

In the partner countries with which Switzerland has concluded a bilateral climate agreement, the aim is not only to reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also to achieve other positive effects for the participating population.
