Uruguay is keen on accelerating the implementation of the Paris Agreement. To discuss the next steps with regards to the Article 6 mechanism, Ambassador Daniel Derzic of the Embassy of Switzerland in Chile received the Vice-Minister of the Environment Gerardo Amarilla and his team, Natalie Pareja, National Director of Climate Change, Mariana Kasprzyk, Climate Change Coordinator. Also invited was the KliK Foundation to present and discuss technologies of interest to support Uruguay with emission reduction programmes.
Several workshops with representatives of the sectoral ministries as well as with private sectors took place to inform about the benefits of Article 6 programme implementation as well as the financial support opportunities of the KliK Foundation. The KliK Foundation also visited first climate change mitigation programmes under development.
The KliK Foundation was invited o present and discuss technologies of interest to support Uruguay with emission reduction programmes.
Programmes of interest for Uruguay are with regards to biogas technology, methane destruction, HFC replacement, biofuels, slow-release fertilizers, e-mobility, waste to energy, among others. Interested parties are invited to submit their ideas for emission reduction programmes via the KliK Foundation’s Uruguay Platform
