Cooperative climate action under the Paris Agreement

Under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement, Switzerland is cooperating with partner countries to increase its climate protection ambition.

The KliK Foundation organises and supports greenhouse gas mitigation activities abroad under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement. It is active in all countries that have signed a bilateral climate agreement with Switzerland.

To date, 13 such agreements have been signed. The KliK Foundation accepts proposals for greenhouse gas mitigation activities from these partner countries and, after prior consultation with the Foundation, also in other countries.

The texts of the bilateral climate agreements and further information can be found on the website of the Federal Office for the Environment.

The KliK Foundation purchases the emission reductions resulting from the implementation of mitigation activities in the form of certificates, known as internationally transferred mitigation outcomes (ITMOs), thereby fulfilling its carbon offset obligation.
